| dc.description.notes | General Overview: This short Australian article outlines the challenges encountered when preparing a proposal for integrated family violence services and discusses how these challenges were overcome.<br/ ><br/ >The author describes some of the challenges encountered in preparing a tender for submission to the Government. In particular, the culture of family violence services contrasts significantly with that of health and other services. Family violence services often prioritise experience over qualifications, feel that their work is “beyond accountability”, are guided by the woman’s account of her needs rather than their own formal assessment and do not initiate intervention. Other services focus more on formal qualifications and conduct their own assessments of their clients.
