The authors considered several aspects of social support and victim help seeking, including help seeking from formal versus informal support, responses of informal social support networks, impact of social support networks, prevention of repeat victimisation, and challenges to engaging with social networks. The article includes detailed discussion of how domestic violence service providers can engage with informal social networks. The authors outline a network-oriented approach and call for further research in to practice that utilises victim&rsquo;s informal social support networks.</p>en
