Presents the background to, methodology and results of a US study aimed at determining the effectiveness of coordinated community intervention for male domestic violence perpetrators, via an assessment of prosecution and post-prosecution elements of recidivism. Argues that the cumulative impact of successful prosecution, probation and court ordered counselling, when managed appropriately, can be to reduce the risk of recidivism. Although various limitations and areas for further research are noted, it is argued that the study provides qualified support for coordinated community intervention with domestic violence perpetrators.en
