dc.description.notesThis report presents the findings from a study in New Zealand that examined the implementation of protection orders in domestic violence cases, specifically focussed on identifying and describing the experiences of women in obtaining order, their impact and the response to breaches; identifying aspects that are effective; and identifying recommendations for improvement.<br/ ><br/ >The research used 43 case studies of Maori, Pakeha (European), Pasifika (Pacific), and other ethnic minority women along with interviews of key informants, court records, police statistics and existing research.<br/ ><br/ >Volume one of the report, presents the executive summary, an overview of NZ policy, study methodology and detailed analysis of each case study.<br/ ><br/ >Volume 2 presents the emerging themes and detailed recommendations including: risk assessment, women’s experience of seeking protection orders, legal context of seeking protection orders, women’s experiences in relation to their children and domestic violence, legal context of children in domestic violence situations, police response, criminal courts, immigration issues, and allied support services and agencies.en
