This article discusses the significant challenges in identifying intimate partner sexual violence (IPSV) within the broader context of family violence. The article underscores the importance of focusing on perpetrators to address violence against women and children, as highlighted by Australia's National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022-2032. The research identifies gaps in the identification, assessment, and response to IPSV, particularly within men’s behaviour change programs (MBCPs). It emphasizes the distinct psychological, emotional, and physical impacts of IPSV, the barriers faced by practitioners, and the need for improved training and assessment tools to address this form of violence.en_US
