The relationship between abuse and depression

This article provides a brief overview of the link between women’s experiences of intimate partner violence (IPV) and depression. The article broadly examines the negative mental health outcomes from experiencing IPV, including suicide. This discussion also includes an examination of theories explaining this relationship. The author concludes with brief comments about the role of nurse interventions.
