This book chapter explores how lesbian relationship violence can be framed through a postmodern feminist lens by examining three case studies of lesbians living with violence in rural Australia. The authors first examined the literature to discuss prevalence and problems with defining lesbian intimate partner violence, particularly considering how heteronormative views have informed ways of understanding and researching intimate partner violence among lesbians. Then examining each case study individually, the authors discuss how different theories impacted on the experiences of the victims and their help-seeking.en
