Outlines the methodology and results of a re-analysis of the findings of five of these studies, implemented in an attempt to counter some of these problems. Argues that the available research is insufficient to assess the effectiveness of arrest as a deterrent to spousal/intimate partner assault, suggesting a continuance of rigorous research in this area is critical to the resolution of debate surrounding the appropriate societal response to domestic violence. | en |
