Aimed at high school, TAFE and university students, this kit provides information on the nature, forms and patterns associated with domestic and family violence and presents a summary of statistics relating to its incidence and prevalence in particular populations. Some causes and consequences of family violence are considered and the Duluth Power and Control wheel is used to explain the cycle of relationship violence. Myths about why women stay in violent relationships are addressed and the role of the law and the government in preventing and responding to domestic violence is outlined. A list of services that can provide help in domestic violence situations and sources of further information are included.
