Counsellors provide immediate intervention by means of contacting suitable agencies and long-term intervention through constant counselling to empower children. Domestic violence calls account for 0.6 per cent of all calls. Most of the callers were females, and more than half were children aged between 10 and 14. Fifty two per cent of the clients reported having experienced multiple incidents of violence within their homes. Twenty eight per cent of the calls required a referral.en
