dc.description.notes<p>ANROWS research project RP.14.04 - Seeking help for domestic violence: exploring rural women&#39;s coping experiences<br /><br />The research project Seeking help for domestic and family violence: Exploring regional, rural, and remote women&#39;s coping experiences was conducted in South Australia (Mount Gambier, Riverland, Whyalla, Murray Bridge) and Western Australia (Derby) from 2015-2016.<br /><br />Face-to-face interviews were held with 23 women (6 Aboriginal women from Derby and 17 non-Aboriginal women from South Australia) and focus groups with 37 domestic and family violence service managers and practitioners across South Australia and Western Australia.<br /><br />The project explored women&#39;s experiences of coping with and seeking help for domestic and<br />family violence and experiences of isolation.<br /><br />This fact sheet summarises the project findings from the women seeking help for domestic and family violence and from managers and practitioners providing this service.
