dc.description.notesCity-based models for sexual assault services are rarely transferable to rural areas. Workers usually have to create more appropriate models, and engage an often resistant community in change. Gives a voice to the experiences of rural women from Albury/Wodonga, while discussing the integrated community response to violence -‘Let’s Lift the Lid’ - launched in 1994 . This programme aims to broaden the understanding of violence against women. The article also draws on research undertaken to explore the nature of feminist community practice in the town.en
