Notes: | Highlighting the scarcity of existing literature and research in this area, this article provides an overview of some of the major issues associated with same-sex violence and the primary difficulties faced by young gay men and lesbians in seeking assistance from available services and authorities. Some of the services for same-sex domestic violence survivors offered by the St George Hospital Social Work Service are outlined and five case studies are used to illustrate the nature of same-sex domestic violence and how the service operates to meet the specific needs of clients. |
