Outlines the methodology and findings of a study aimed at examining the prevalence of domestic abuse amongst women attending a family planning clinic at a hospital in Upton, United Kingdom. The results suggest domestic abuse affects one in three women attending the clinic and that the risk amongst younger women is significantly higher. Improvements to pre-conception care and screening for medical risk factors are recognised as priorities and the potential limitations of the study are acknowledged.en
