Notes:	Outlines the methodology and results of a study that utilised open-ended interview techniques to explore the relationship between adolescent pregnancy and domestic violence amongst a group of low-income mothers in Michigan, USA. A review of the literature pertaining to teenage pregnancy and the role of domestic violence in young women’s experiences both prior to and after the birth of the child is conducted. The findings are organised around particular themes, such as decisions about contraception, participants’ reactions to the news of their pregnancy and the role of parents and other social networks. In each case, the impact of partner violence on young women’s experience is analysed and is suggested that the relationship between adolescent pregnancy, dating violence and domestic violence be explored further.
