dc.description.notesThis article reports on the findings from a study testing a brief nurse intervention designed for rural women experiencing both sexually transmitted infections (STDs) and intimate partner violence. The article includes a description of the key components of the intervention. Findings indicate that three months later, women who received the intervention reported decreased frequency and severity of violent experiences and increased use of safety strategies and safer sex practices.en
