This journal article reports on a longitudinal study that examined the relationship between alcohol outlet density (including hotel/pub, packaged liquor, and on-premise) and domestic violence reports from police records in Melbourne from 1996 to 2005. Domestic violence and alcohol outlet density were significantly associated over time. The authors noted a large effect between packaged liquored licenses and domestic violence. The article examines further the interaction of the relationships between each type of alcohol outlet.en
