This journal article focuses on the acceptance of screening for intimate partner violence during antenatal and other general health care visits. The authors' mixed method research study analysed 401 postpartum German women's opinions on the levels of acceptability of routine screening or case-based inquiry during antenatal care. The results showed a 92% support rate for this type of screening for intimate partner violence. Stockl et al recommend that thorough training for health care providers is necessary to conduct this screening appropriately; however until this is fully implemented these service providers need to be educated on the prevalence and negative health impacts of violence during pregnancy.en
