The journal article reports the results of a qualitative study of 18 mental health service users who were also victims of domestic violence and 20 mental health professionals in a south London Borough (UK).The primary purposes of the study was to examine attitudes towards routine screening in mental health settings. Services users identified barriers around disclosure, while providers described barriers towards enquiry and response to disclosures. Both service users and providers identified a common perceived barrier of the medical diagnostic and treatment model. The authors conclude with a discussion of clinician recommendations related to screening and training.en
