| dc.description.notes | This study investigates attitudes toward domestic violence responsibility and punishments when alcohol consumption and significant injuries are present. The sample comprised 48 males and 48 females aged between 17 and 69 years. A questionnaire with a scenario that involved no alcohol and moderate violence, alcohol and moderate violence, or alcohol and higher level of violence was provided to the participants. Both males and females assigned most of the responsibility for the violence on the perpetrator in all circumstances, regardless of alcohol consumption and severity of the incident. Most respondents recommended fines and community service as punishment. However, when alcohol and greater injuries were involved, the suggested punishments were more severe. Additional psychological interventions were considered suitable in all cases. | en |
