It outlines the ways in which groups can provide a supportive environment for women to share their experiences, to recognise and celebrate their strengths and to challenge the dominant messages about domestic violence.<br/ >Draws on experience gained in conducting 12 support groups for women who had experienced domestic violence. Nine of these groups have been conducted in English with participants from both Anglo Australian backgrounds and non-English speaking backgrounds.
