Notes:	Presents the methodology and results of a US study designed to examine the impact of physical, psychological and sexual abuse, social support and socio-economic resources on women’s emotional and physical functioning. An overview of research linking women’s vulnerability to depression and impaired physical functioning is provided and the importance of identifying factors that facilitate and/or impede women’s capacity to cope with intimate violence, for both prevention and intervention, is highlighted.
