This US article analyses the influence of work stressors, alcohol and normative beliefs on partner violence. The particular study discussed in the article was conducted with construction workers and their partners. The authors identify the way the male and female partners’ beliefs about partner violence influence their violent behaviour. Various internal and external factors are discussed as additional contributors to the occurrence and prevalence of violence. The article concludes that integrating the results of this strategy into the workplace may contribute to the prevention of violence.en
