The author critically assesses two educational campaigns directed at preventing violence against women. She argues that the “Date Rape ‘No Means No’ Rubic cube” campaign launched by the NSW Attorney General’s Violence Against Women strategy was not comprehensive in assisting young women to safely negotiate sex. In contrast, the “Sex/Violence/Consent” smart card of the National Crime Prevention Campaign ‘Towards a Safer Australia’ contains the relevant information to empower young people. She concludes that research findings should be included in anti-violence campaigns to successfully achieve their objectives.en
