Provides information of the level of victimisation for selected household and personal crimes. The figures derive from the Crime and Safety Survey conducted in April 1998 throughout Australia. The offences measured include household break-in, motor vehicle theft, assault, sexual assault and robbery. The survey reveals that victims of family violence are located amongst the repeat victims of assault. Similarly, women aged over 35 years, married or in a de facto relationship, not in the labour force, or Australian-born are more likely to experience two or more incidents of sexual assault.en
