This paper discusses some issues of the work of Alan Jenkins of Nada Consultants on adolescent violence towards parents. It is believed that two power hierarchies operate in this phenomenon, physical power of the offspring over his/her mother and moral power of the adult over the child. To deal with the problem, respectful behaviour and accountability for the actions of both parties are encouraged. Jenkins proposes an intervention that assists the identification of their strengths and positive beliefs to reconstruct respect and love. Communication and problem-solving strategies are also inculcated.en
