Notes:  Focusing on statutory organisations and health care services, this paper draws upon the findings of a UK study to examine policy development in the area of domestic violence and child abuse, as an indicator of good practice. The study examined policy documents relating to domestic violence, child abuse and perpetrator service provision. A background to research linking domestic violence and child abuse is provided and the methodology and key results of the study are outlined. Aspects of agency policy found to contribute to good practice included a commitment to issues of safety and confidentiality, attention to diversity and equality, and development of a more integrated, multi-agency approach.
