Presents the methodology and results of a study aimed at assessing the prevalence of self-reported domestic violence in South Australia and the various risk and demographic factors related to it. Mental and physical health issues which may arise from domestic violence exposure are also explored. While the results indicate the majority of persons who have suffered emotional/physical abuse from a partner are women, the lack of comparative studies make it difficult to assess whether violence against men is increasing or remaining static. Other trends identified included a tendency for those reporting violence to be in some way involved with alcohol/substance abuse and the high incidence of revictimisation.en
