dc.description.notes | Reports on the NSW trial of the Domestic Violence Court Intervention (DVCIM) model planned for implementation in the regional location of Wagga Wagga in April 2005 and the metropolitan site of Campbelltown in June 2005. The DVCIM involves a broad range of agencies working together to improve responses to domestic violence from the reporting of the violent incident through to the sentencing and management of the perpetrator. Specifically, it seeks to provide support to the victims of domestic violence through the entire prosecution process, to improve the quality of the prosecution process to obtain better criminal justice system outcomes (in part by promoting a pro-charge, pro-arrest policy) and to provide for integrated perpetrator, victim and children’s programmes aimed at reducing repeat offending. | en |
