dc.description.notesThis article examines the factors connected with suicide ideation in the New Zealand female population who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV). Face-to-face interviews with 956 women were conducted in Auckland and Waikato using a model of the World Health Organization’s “Multi-country Study on Women’s Health and Domestic Violence against Women” questionnaire. The interviewees were selected using a population-based cluster sampling method.<br/ ><br/ >The authors are able to conclude that, in common with other international studies, suicide ideation is strongly associated with IPV among New Zealand women.
