| dc.description.notes | This article summarises findings from interviews of 18 women about their experiences of Family Court counselling in New Zealand, which was part of a larger study of women in dispute with the legal system over care and contact arrangements for their children post-separation. In this context, Family Court counselling was designed to offer non-litigious mediation or conciliation in resolving parental disputes over child custody arrangements in the separation process. This qualitative study specifically examined the ways in which counsellor gender impacted on women's experiences of the process including women affected by domestic violence. | en |
