Notes:  This brief article outlines the Western Australian Safe at Home (SAH) program which began in 2010 and was designed to provide early intervention and prevention and to provide an alternative to the homelessness often suffered by women and their children in escaping domestic violence.

It also presents findings from Hartwig’s research into the programs including: positive aspects of women’s experiences of Safe at Home; women’s perceptions of their safety before and after participating in the program; and statistics covering details of referrals to the program and expenditure on program implementation.
