Provides a critique of feminist therapeutic interventions with immigrant and racially visible women who have been abused, by first presenting a background to feminist therapy and intervention, and then outlining the scope and nature of violence in immigrant and racially visible communities. Argues that, although there are many positive aspects to the use of feminist therapy with these groups, greater recognition of the role of women’s cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds in their experience of domestic violence is needed. Strategies for incorporating the diversity of women into feminist analysis are suggested, and their implications for practice discussed.en
