| dc.description.notes | This US article discusses the link between experiencing intimate partner violence as an adult and having experienced physical or sexual abuse as a child. More specifically, the authors highlight the increased vulnerability of adult women who have experienced such abuse as a child, or witnessed such abuse being perpetrated against their mothers, to further abuse. The article focuses strongly on trauma and the ways in which the experiences listed above can contribute to retraumatisation for these women.
