This article presents the findings from a Canadian study of 1071 substantiated child protection cases where exposure to domestic violence was reported alone or along with child abuse and neglect. The study explored which factors influenced the decision to keep cases open and/or remove children from the home as well as negative impacts on the child. Among the detailed results, was the finding that the presence of domestic violence was not a factor that independently contributed to more intrusive intervention by child protection services.en
