Trained mentor mothers provided advocate and support to improve the women’s well being and mothering skills. Culturally and ethnically diverse west Melbourne was considered the appropriate location area for the intervention project. The article discusses the achievements of the development phase completed in early 2002 and some of the local and international collaborations.en
