The Older Women and Domestic Violence Project’s primary goal is to identify and explore the needs of older women who are living or have lived with a violent intimate partner. Through this, it aims to influence public policy and to advocate for more appropriate and accessible services for older women. This paper reports on the results of a phone-in by older women. Ninety women between the ages of 50 and 78 years told their stories and gave their views on how to support their peers. The major themes identified by the women are discussed, as well as the positive outcomes for women who participated. Specific issues for women from rural and remote areas are identified, and outcomes and recommendations are discussed.en
