See"The physical, sexual and emotional violence history of middle-aged women: a community-based prevalence study" by Mazza et al on our R & R database.<br/ >This paper is a commentary of ‘The physical, sexual and emotional violence history of middle-aged women: a community-based prevalence study’ conducted by Mazza, Garamszegi and Dudley. A cross-sectional cohort study was executed in Melbourne in 1991 with the participation of 362 women aged between 45 and 55 years. The level, quantity and type of adult and child abuse were measured and compared to a 1996 general practice-based study. The researchers found that long-term morbidity is connected to experiences of violence. It is considered that the study is valuable in identifying the needs of this at-risk group and for developing appropriate interventions.en
