In a US study of more than 14,000 young people aged between 18 and 26 years of age, respondents were asked about intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetration and alcohol use. Participants’ addresses and alcohol outlets in their neighbourhoods were matched and the resulting data analysed.<br/ ><br/ >For young adult males, results demonstrated a positive relationship between living in an area of high alcohol outlet density and perpetrating IPV. While increased perpetration of physical IPV was demonstrated, outlet density was not associated with sexual IPV perpetration.en
