The article discusses the well-known association between drug and/or alcohol misuse and incidents of domestic violence, therefore emphasising the need for improved and increased interventions.<br/ ><br/ >Stuart et al.’s research presents evidence that confirm their initial hypothesis that implementing a standard batterer program in conjunction with a brief alcohol intervention does successfully reduce the frequency and amount of drinking and violent behaviour by domestic violence perpetrators.
