Notes: | This brief article presents findings from a New Zealand study that examines the experiences of women who utilised refuge services comparing 42 women who also had protection orders with 42 who had no protection orders. The findings indicate that women with protection orders accessed more services and were more like to have achieved their planned outcomes. The authors discuss the importance of protection orders in supporting women’s safety and ability to leave domestic violence. |
