Describes the background, objectives and activities of a new project undertaken by the Emergency Accommodation and Support Enterprise (EASE) based in Bendigo, Victoria. The project, entitled ‘Solving the Jigsaw’, is a school-based programme spanning grades 5-10 and aims to assist children and parents to develop skills in anger management, conflict resolution, communication and decision making. The need for the creation of a safe environment where issues may be openly discussed, together with strong links between teachers, parents, external supports and students, is recognised. The effectiveness and long-term goals of the project are also examined.en
