This article is an outline of the Tasmanian whole-of-government strategy against family violence, Safe at Home. The article is primarily a description and account of the Safe at Home program although its uniqueness and innovation as a criminal justice, government-led, integrated response to family violence is noted. It outlines features of the strategy, which include:<br/ ><br/ >* New legislation,<br/ >* New services, including counselling for adults and children, court support,<br/ >* Training and new staffing for existing services, such as prosecutions and Legal Aid,<br/ >* New policing practices, including the use of risk assessment at every incident to determine responses, and<br/ >* New protocols, policies and accountability structures for all agencies, which ensure that the system works effectively as an authentic integrated and coordinated response.<br/ ><br/ >The author concludes the detailed description with the suggestion that the Tasmanian strategy provides a benchmark integrated response for Australia.en
