dc.description.notesDescribes the purpose and function of Victoria's first domestic violence courts, currently being established in Heidelberg and Ballarat. A background to the Family Court's Family Violence Strategy, its objectives and the manner in which the strategy will be implemented is provided. The review of the Crimes (Family Violence) Act (VIC) conducted by the Victorian Law Reform Commission is also discussed and some of the key problems identified in the first round of consultations are presented. The next steps in the Victorian Law Reform Commissions' review process are also outlined.en
