Notes: | Domestic and family violence is a major factor contributing to homelessness in Victoria, as it is throughout Australia. It may surprise some people to know that women escaping family violence, along with the children who witness or live with such violence, are the prevailing face of homelessness in Australia today. Women and children can experience extensive trauma and are often physically, emotionally, psychologically and economically displaced when they are forced to leave their homes due to violence. |
