Notes:	This is the third paper of a three-part series focused on law reform and policy development to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children as victims/survivors of family violence and sexual assault. The papers emphasise legal equity, accessibility and outcomes. In this third paper, the Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention & Legal Services Victoria drew on their service experience, recent law and justice developments, consultations with victims/survivors, and advisory committee feedback to outline how the legal and justice system could better respond to ATSI affected by family violence. The seven sections of this paper address family law, child protection, family violence law, victims assistance, impact of giving evidence in court, police responses and restorative justice. The paper concludes with 60 proposals for improving the legal system response to ATSI victims and survivors of family and domestic violence.
