Notes:  This paper is the Women With Disabilities Australia (WWDA) submission on stage one of the Australian Government’s Productivity Commission National Disability Care and Support Inquiry into a national long-term disability care and support scheme. The submission specifically argues that the scheme must take a gendered approach to: recognise the need to eliminate discrimination against women with disabilities; ensure equality between men and women with disabilities; and to respect the human rights of women with disabilities. The submission sets out an international and Australia context and framework for a gendered approach.
