Spiral bound.<br/ >Previously published in 2002.<br/ >This booklet was first produced in 2002 by the Secretariat National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC), as a tool for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community leaders to assist them in mobilising efforts to respond to the needs of children in their community at risk of family violence and/or neglect. This accompanies the leaflet and handbook, which focus on the impact of family and domestic violence on children and who are subjected to other forms of child abuse and neglect. A background to SNAICC and its role in responding to family violence, child abuse and neglect is presented and suggestions on how to raise community awareness, develop interagency responses to abuse and initiate long-term prevention strategies are provided. Information on the SNAICC handbook and a list of agencies across Australia, which may be useful as educational, informational or funding resources, are also included.en
