The manual is targeted at policy makers, support workers and women with disabilities. Discussion: :This resource manual is made up of four booklets and a DVD. “A life like mine” contains the stories of women with disabilities who have experienced violence. “Forgotten sisters” is a review of international research on violence against women with disabilities. It includes consideration of the incidence and prevalence of violence, forms and effects of violence, policy and legislative responses, identification of violence and prevention. It also includes an annotated bibliography. “It’s not ok, it’s violence” is aimed at women with disabilities and includes plain English information about violence and what to do about it. “More than just a ramp” is a guide for women’s refuges to help them to develop Disability Discrimination Act action plans.
