Notes:  This pack for schools forms part of the Australian Government's multi-media strategy approach using radio, television and magazine advertisements to promote awareness of violence against women. The package is aimed at teachers, school counsellors and other education-based staff, for use with students in senior high school years. It contains a poster and information brochures designed for young people, parents and other community members. The brochures give information on the signs of an abusive relationship, how to receive and offer help, crisis services in each Australian State and Territory and an Australia-wide 24-hour helpline. Story scenarios are outlined to illustrate the perspectives of young women, parents, friends and a perpetrator of sexual violence. Other resources included are a CD-ROM containing an education resource with 3-6 sessions for senior high school students on Healthy Relationships, Factors that Influence Abuse in Relationships, and What are Abusive Relationships. The pack contains written guidelines for teachers on implementing the education resource. There is a DVD with a documentary "Loves Me, Loves Me Not", telling the story of a young woman who sustained permanent injury as a result of a violent relationship.
